After two wins on the bounce Chard were keen to keep up their winning streak this week. They started strong and almost got an opening goal within the few minutes
Within 11 minutes Kerryn Mullis got the opening goal, putting Chard deservedly ahead. For the majority of the first half, Chard had most of the play and could have scored several goals. Shortly before half-time Thea Parsons scored their second, putting them comfortably ahead.
The second half started in similar fashion with stand-in keeper Jade Dunning having little to do. Again, Chard could have increased their lead, but were not clinical in front of goal.
Within the last minutes of the game and against the run of play, Sidmouth managed to get a goal back.
Credit needs to go to Sidmouth defence, who played brilliantly and stopped Chard increasingly their lead.
The match ended 2-1 win
Player of the game was Lauren for a fantastic battle in midfield.
Thank you for umpires, Trevor Goss and Chris Long ?
