Chard travelled to Exeter with a squad of 12, plagued with injuries, but hopeful of a second win of the season.
The match started evenly, with both teams having some early chances on goal. Chard were the first to break the deadlock, when a rebound on a short corner fell to Charlotte Mooney who slotted the ball past the keeper into the back of the net.

Shortly before half-time Chard got their second as a result of Thea Parsons running down the right wing and crossing to Layla Anderson who was waiting on the left post to push the ball home.
Chard started the second half with a bare 11 after goal scorer Char Mooney was unable to carry on playing. Meaning, returning captain Amy Goss was forced to play longer than intended.
Exeter put a lot of pressure on Chard at the start of the second half and won a series of short corners and managed to get a goal back, resulting in the second half being much more even. Stand-in goalkeeper Lois Butcher made some necessary saves to keep Chard ahead.
With the last hit of the game, Kerryn Mullis was involved in a goal mouth scramble and managed to push the goal over the line to restore Chard’s two goal lead.
The match ended 3-1 to Chard.
