On a cold and frosty morning, where many games were called off due to frozen pitches Chard Ladies 1s headed to Ottery St Mary. After the success of last week confidence was high, despite missing our one trick pony and goalie we felt sure some points were on the horizon.
The first half started with a disciplined and coordinated Chard who communicated well and kept the opposition on their toes. Chard forced many mistakes through their composure but sadly did not make the most of attacks on the D.

The second half came following motivational words from Captain Jade, coach EJ and several others, sadly somewhere between the end of the half time speech and the start of the second half we slightly lost our composure, the opposition came ready to battle and despite some valiant attempts from midfield through to defence a superb shot to the top corner resulted in Chard going 1-0 down. Chard battled on and there was some beautiful passing play and attacks on goal but sadly no ball hit the back of the net.
Player of the match went to Alice in goal

Donkey of the day went to Lola who did some impressive acrobatics over our own goalie!
