Not a good day at the office as Chard failed to beat Taunton Civil Service who fielded one players. It all started wrong for Chard as the team could not settle into their positions and with the home side being more energised in getting to the ball the visitors were on the back foot for all the second half, Taunton scoring two goals before the break. Despite Chard switching the team around they could not get the quick passing needed to circumnavigate the defence and when they did their were a number of blatant fouls, Chard managed to pull one back from a penalty corner by Richard Jones, but mistakes at the back again allowed Civil Service to fire in again. Hope was there again as Durgan Cooper ran past the defence to slot home, Chard then were reduced themselves to nine players as the protests at more agricultural defending went unpunished but the chard players sent off for complaining, Chard eventually managed to get a penatlyty corner that Steve Dare fired high in the net, as Chard pushed to get the winner Taunton broke and a foul in the final third meant Taunton had a penalty corner themselves which they scored to take the three points.
