Chard B 0 Chard A 1
The inter-club derby was the last game before the Xmas break and saw a tighter game than the previous encounter with neither side creating many clear cut chances. The B team started the more brightly with a youthful energetic mid-field of Ryan Lewis, Tom Float and Charlie Grossey pressing the A team back but despite all their endeavours there was not a killer pass as the back two of the A’s Arthur Critchely and Paul Tratt marshalled the area in front of the D very well. The only goal came as a wayward pass as Chard were on the offensive was moved to the newly arrived Kyle Wheaton who muscled his way to the edge of the D and crossed for Gareth Eggle to slot in the corner.
The second half was messy as both teams tryied to squeeze everything through the middle of the pitch, for the B team special mention to James Float who stood out for his tireless commitment, with the ball not being passed to the wings, play was also interrupted by a number of fouls which stopped any rhythm in play, however the A team became the more dominant team as the half went on and Whetaon had a number of chances go past the post.
