Yeovil & Sherborne B 0 Chard B 3
Three in a row! Chard won their derby game against yeovil at Mudford Rec. to secure their position in the top half of the league. The result was well ground out as the home sides defence and in particular had a good game in stiffling Chards advances in the first half. The keeper saving three penalty corners and with Richard Jones firing over form close distance made it look like they were not going to score, however an individual moment of inspiration saw Rollo Squires fire his reverse stick show over the prone keeper to settle the nerves. Yeovil relied on quick ball out of defence but the mobile Ryan Lewis and tackling from George Bromfield kept the chances to minimal inside the final third. Chard scored twice when a surprise end to end run by Kevin Mooney had his wayward shot turned in by Squires, Captain Cheffey then fired over the crossbar from close range before Richard Jones cooly slotted the ball in to the corner to close the game.
