A friendly game was organised between these two clubs who play in the same division but were without league games to use the opportunity to allow their younger players to gain match practice. Chard fielded a number of debutants who acquitted themselves admirably. Isca whose squad was also youthful had the best of the early exchanges, camping Chard in their final third, a few tweaks with the line-up allowed Chard to spread the ball better. Chard eventually had a couple of chances through searing runs down the right by Harry Felgate which opened up the defence, as the half went on the home sides in-experience was shown up as the ball was being picked off in defence, Danny Garbham and George Grossey working the ball excellently to initiate Chards forwards to counter-attack. The half ended with a few half chances the best falling to Nathan Johnson whose effort was expertly saved by the Isca keeper.
Chard were a lot more settled in the second half and were the better side, easy passing moves allowed the forward line to break at pace especially through the great interplay of Jake Whitefield and Bertie Squire, one such move created a penalty corner from which Felgate shot eventually managed to squeeze over the line. The goal inspired Isca into more forward play and themselves found some spaces behind the Chard defence, a mix-up allowed the Isca centre forward too much time and he slotted the ball home. Chard continued to create a number of superb opportunities to score, eventually just before the final whistle Alex Gurd managed at last to beat the keeper with a reverse stick shot.
